The Department of Chemistry is known for its world class research Faculty and support staff. New students are warmly welcomed into the Department.  Students are strongly supported to achieve their research goals and successful graduation.
 
The MacNaughton building is home to many of the Chemistry Department's research Faculty and graduate students. It has just undergone an extensive renovation bringing its facilities up to the newest standards ensuring a safe and productive research environment.

Find a Research Supervisor

The GWC2 is a joint graduate program offered by the Departments of Chemistry at the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo. You may apply for admission through either University. You will be admitted to the home university of the accepting supervisor.
 
With an expanding roster of faculty members, our Department is engaged in a broad range of research activities. Eager new M.Sc. and Ph.D. students are welcome to apply and join our research teams

Funding and Tuition

Students coming to the University of Guelph for graduate studies in Chemistry may be eligible for our entrance scholarship.

GWC2

The University of Guelph is a partner in the Guelph-Waterloo Centre for Graduate Work in Chemistry and Biochemistry.  
 
This collaboration allows chemistry graduate students enrolled at the University of Guelph to attend graduate courses at both the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo.
 
Enjoy the personal experience of the University of Guelph while selecting from the expanded pool of graduate courses from both Universities.
